Audi Saradar Investment Bank sal is the Group’s Investment Banking entity. The Bank is the result of the merger of 3 entities (“Audi Investment Bank sal”, “Lebanon Invest sal” and “Saradar Investment House sal”), and benefits from the status of a specialized bank conferred by virtue of Law 22/67.
 
In addition to a set of particular activities such as Long-Term Deposits and Financing, Audi Saradar Investment Bank sal is also active in the overall business of Investment Banking, mainly in Financial Engineering, Mergers and Acquisitions, Market Activities, Corporate Banking and OPA, as well as structured products, among others.

As a French joint stock company, the Bank performs general banking operations related to Commercial Corporate Banking, Trade Finance and Structured Finance (Real Estate, Project Finance), and provides services to a private clientele.

Bank Audi Syria launched its operations in September 2005 with a capital of USD 50 million, the largest start-up capital in the Syrian-banking sector, and with one branch in Damascus. It now has a solid network of 21 branches offering a diversified portfolio of commercial and retail products.

By end-September 2009, the Bank’s total assets reached USD 1.56 billion, with USD 1.38 billion of customer deposits, while its shareholders’ equity reached USD 128.81 million and its loan portfolio USD 517.44 million. These achievements encouraged Management and shareholders to double the Bank’s capital to USD 100 million.

In recognition of its accomplishments, Bank Audi Syria was granted the “Best Bank” award in 2008 and 2009 by Global Finance, as “Best Emerging Market Bank in the Middle East”.

In March 2006, Bank Audi sal acquired the “Cairo Far East Bank sae”, an Egyptian bank with a network of 3 Commercial Banking branches and one Islamic Banking branch. The latter’s name was subsequently changed to Bank Audi sae, a fully-owned subsidiary of Bank Audi sal with a capital of US$ 100 million.

Bank Audi sae’s action plan hinges mainly on the development of Commercial and Correspondent Banking activities, along with extensive Retail Banking activities based on Bank Audi’s acquired expertise in the field.

Set to become the Group’s second largest entity outside Lebanon, Bank Audi sae aims at achieving a 3% market share in the coming years by engaging in several important partnerships. In parallel, the Bank is working on establishing a strong domestic franchise through an extensive branch network that now includes 32 branches offering high-quality products and services with attractive benefits.

The Bank’s financial philosophy is to increase sales of its products and services, boost its operating margins and manage its capital intensity within very strict control procedures. Today, the Bank operates four branches in Sudan covering three main business lines: Corporate, Commercial and Retail Banking. The main branch is in the capital Khartoum, with two other branches in Omdurman and Bahry, and a fourth one in Port-Sudan, on the Red Sea. To ensure all offerings are fully compliant with the Sharia, activities and operations are monitored by both the Group and the National Bank of Sudan Sharia Supervisory Boards.
